Grey meaning

Grey meaning

Gray is not strictly speaking a color. Halfway between white and black, its progenitors, gray is a rather bland shade, associated with sadness and loneliness.

It is true that it is difficult for the gray to be dashing when we know that in nature, it is represented by mice or dust.

This shade, however, has the merit of being soft, rather soothing and calm.

It is usually rather catch-all and matches with almost any color (except dark gray mixed with blue or dark green). Sober, elegant, it is a good ally.

However, we must be careful not to overuse it.

Indeed, in large quantities, it brings back to a bland, sad and melancholic world.

  • Positive meaning: calm, softness
  • Negative meaning: sadness, solitude, monotony, melancholy
  • Representation: animals (mice, elephants), dust
